we moved!

Wow, it has been a wild ride! We are just over one week since we made the move from PA-TX, and exactly one week since we started renovations! Is it just me or does it seem like a lot has happened in one week?

Let’s dive into what is happening & what is to come!

Air bnb

If you’ve been following along on Instagram then you know it’s been quite the fiasco finding a safe & clean place to stay while we renovate. But we are finally settled into a house for now, we will call it “airbnb 3”.

We have a pretty long list of things that need to happen before we can safely move into the new house with our little girl, and we only have airbnb 3 for a month… so we’ve got work to do.

Contracted work?

Can we tackle this whole project ourselves? Yes.

Do we want to tackle this whole project ourselves? No. LOL

We had to weigh all of the pros and cons to doing the work ourselves vs contracting out some of the work … and the reality is it all takes a lot of time.

We have this minimum amount of work that needs to be done in order to clean up the house and move in. We came to the realization that we would be paying for an airbnb longer which is a pretty penny, and brian would be postponing work longer if we did not contract out some of this work. We found this to be a happy balance.

what happens after You move in?

We will tackle the kitchen right away because we can only live without a kitchen for so long. And then we will tackle everything else slowly in time.

It is a priority to slowly perfect each space of this house to make it home- this certainly does not happen overnight. I can’t wait to take you along with the process.

We are just excited that we will have a clean blank slate soon, as far as walls and floors go, so that we can comfortably move in and get started with the fun part.

Buying a fixer upper may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we absolutely love that we can design every area of a house to make it perfectly us.

It all takes time, coordination, and so many decisions … but it is so fun.

Thank you for being here & following along. It is going to be quite the project, but we are so excited to start seeing it come together!

Let’s do this!
